Edible cannabis player makes move in Oregon 10-26-15
Two companies in states that have legalized marijuana have joined forces to offer cannabis-infused goods. Wana Brands will team up with the medical marijuana dispensary Oregon Bud Company as Oregon prepares to add retail sales of edible marijuana goods to its roster of cannabis offerings.
THC-infused edibles are set to go on sale to the general public next year. Wana Edibles’ line includes Sour Gummies, Wana Rolls, Classic Caramels, Wana Jewels, Cinnamints, Hot Cocoa and Drink Mixes.
The term "edibles" refers to "food or potable liquid into which a cannabinoid concentrate, cannabinoid extract or dried marijuana leaves or flowers have been incorporated," according to temporary rules the Oregon Liquor Control Commission passed last week. Edibles will be available for sale to the general public when OLCC-sanctioned stores open in 2016's second half. The items are available in medical marijuana outlets to those with clearance to shop there.
The Oregon Bud Company opened its first store in Clackamas in July. It plans to open additional locations in Newport, Beaverton and throughout the Portland region by Jan, 1.
